Why are the free templates view-locked?

Our free templates are fully functional for everyday use — enter your data, use the formulas, print and share. The sheet structure is protected so the formulas can’t be accidentally broken, and so the templates you download always work as designed.

Are the free templates really free?

Yes — completely free to download and use, with no signup required, on excelx.com and analysistabs.com. We’ve published free templates since 2012 and they’ll stay free.

Can I get the password to unlock a free template?

We don’t share unlock passwords — the protection keeps the free templates working reliably for everyone. If you need full editing access, the premium versions here have no password and come with a commercial license — and the packs include the premium versions of most free templates.

What’s the difference between free and premium templates?

Free templates are single-purpose tools with protected structure. Premium templates are fully customisable and far more advanced — dashboards that build themselves, Setup tabs with currency and view modes, sample-data and blank versions, free lifetime updates — and come with support and a commercial-use license.

Do I need anything besides Excel?

No. Our templates work in Excel 2016 and later, including Microsoft 365 on Windows, Mac and Excel for the Web. They’re 100% VBA-free — no macros, no add-ins, no accounts.

Do you have 2027 calendars?
